The Lomonosov Academic Tournament is an annual multi-disciplinary
contest for middle and high school students (grades 6 to 12). Younger participants are welcome to participate although the
assignments might be difficult for them. No special knowledge beyond school curriculum is required. The main goals of the
Tournament are to encourage children to think outside the box, to ignite interest in science and to inspire further learning.

The online academic tournament is composed from the same problems as the traditional tournament (a participant may choose whether to take part in the online or regular tournament). Award certificates for the online tournament are issued in electronic form; it is stated on the certificate that the participation was online.

For participation in the online version of academic tournament a preliminary registration is
required. The registration starts in June, 2013 and ends on September 29, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. (Moscow time).

The Tournament starts at 10:00 a.m. (Moscow time) and ends at 3:00 p.m. (Moscow time) on September 29th, 2013. An alternative time frame from 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time (PDT) till 4:00 p.m. Pacific Time will be available for participants in corresponding time zones.
For the participation in the online academic Tournament you need to have a computer with internet access.
Solutions should be typed in as a plain text. You may need to attach an image to your solution. Therefore, you may need a scanner or a digital camera. Scanned images are
accepted only if they are sent in one of the following formats: JPG, GIF, PNG.

LomonosovTournament is an individual competition that is open to everyone. Participation in the tournament is free of charge.
The online version of the academic tournament consists of the same problems as the traditional in-person
Tournament. It is evaluated according to the same criteria. The participants of the traditional tournament work on their own,
without any external aid. Participants of the online academic tournament must obey the same rules: they must work on the assignments
individually. Using any additional source of information (books, encyclopedias, media, internet etc.) is
strictly forbidden. Otherwise the work will not be graded.
The winners of the online tournament are awarded with diplomas and certificates for successfulonline
participation. (No other benefits of in-person tournaments are available to online participants.)
